Two Photon In Vivo Technology

2PtechTwo-photon microscopy is an in vivo imaging technique that can provide high-resolution, three-dimensional images up to about 1 mm in depth.

Two photons of infrared light are used to excite fluorescently labeled proteins expressed in tissue of transgenic animals.

Two Photon in vivo technology enables the study of:

  • Cells and their behaviors in real time, under physiological and pathological conditions in vivo
  • Dynamic processes such as cell responses to environmental stimuli and mechanisms of disease by find and re-imaging living tissue
  • Detailed anatomy and morphology by generating 3-dimensional reconstructions
  • Responses of cells to pharmagcologic treatments
